In his book 'The Hobbit' J.R.R. Tolkien uses a variant of the anglo-saxon runes for the writing on Thror's map. This translator uses these runes to translate an English text into runic script.

The perhaps best known fractal is the Mandelbrot fractal. Like so many other people I too became intrigued by the infinite repetition of the same patterns on smaller and smaller scales. Here is a DOS program that lets you zoom in on smaller and smaller parts of the total Mandelbrot image.

One day I was reading about a type of fractal that can be generated by repetitive linear transformations. It was probably a rainy day, because I sat down and wrote this fractal generator for the Excel spreadsheet program.
