Meijer's
Box
Years ago I
read about a construction puzzle, called Hazelgrove's Box. It
intrigued me to such an extent that I designed a similar puzzle.
Outpost
This was an
experiment in writing a short story where the reader determines how
the story progresses. Whether things take a good or a nasty turn,
it's up to you!
Runic
translator
In his book
'The Hobbit' J.R.R. Tolkien uses a variant of the anglo-saxon runes
for the writing on Thror's map. This translator uses these runes to
translate an English text into runic script.
Mandelbrot
fractal
The perhaps
best known fractal is the Mandelbrot fractal. Like so many other
people I too became intrigued by the infinite repetition of the same
patterns on smaller and smaller scales. Here is a DOS program that
lets you zoom in on smaller and smaller parts of the total Mandelbrot image.
Fractal
generator
One day I was
reading about a type of fractal that can be generated by repetitive
linear transformations. It was probably a rainy day, because I sat
down and wrote this fractal generator for the Excel spreadsheet program. |
