Take a Breath   This is a simulation of the air you are breathing, at molecular level. The air pressure is one atmosphere and the temperature 20 degrees Celcius. Under these conditions each molecule has approximately 40 nm3 of empty space around it, a lot of room if you consider that for instance a nitrogen molecule has a volume of 0.003 nm3. The relative humidity is 90%, so you are probably taking a shower. The following molecule types can be found in the image, in the specified ratio, which reflects a typical air sample. Nitrogen 76.3 % Oxygen 20.5 % Water 2.1 % Argon 1.0 % Carbon dioxide 0.1 % Of course atoms are in reality not colored for your convenience, nor do they have nice round shapes. But the first atomic level flash light camera has yet to be invented, so who knows...
