When we were there last week everything was on the edge of bursting into bloom as there had been rain. Driving home, we passed through Joshua Tree National Park, also on this website and another big area of beautiful desert. Ferry Ballhaus, een Hagenaar met een passie voor wandelen in het Duitse Hunsrück-gebied (zie daarvoor zijn website home.wanadoo.nl/ferry.ballhaus/index.htm), las over de door ons aangeraden gratis pop up-killer van Panicware. Hij wijst op het bestaan van een ander stukje software tegen ongewenste webvensters dat gemaakt is door de in Schotland woonachtige Nederlander Berend Meijer. Hij is werkzaam in de chipindustrie en programmeert al jaren voor z’n plezier. Een van zijn producten is de heel gebruikersvriendelijke pop up-stopper Kill’m, die je voor geen geld van de website www.euronet.nl/~bmeijer/software/index.html kunt halen. Een goede tip de we graag doorgeven, want Kill’m is handig en zit beter in elkaar dan het gemiddelde huisvlijtproduct. Nog aardiger zou zijn als Berend zijn Nederlandse afkomst eer zou aandoen en ook een Nederlandstalige versie zou maken.
