Fractal generator   The fractal generator is an application that the developers of Excel probably did not have in mind for their package. It creates graphical images of a certain type of fractals that can be constructed by linear transformations: rotations, line mirrors, multiplications and translations. The latest version of the spreadsheet was created in Excel 2000, but an older version for Excel 5.0 is also still available. Check here for the general conditions of use for my software. Version 2.01 generates fractals with 30,000 points. On a slow computer it will take many seconds to calculate these points, in which case you may want to disable Excel's automatic calculation (from the Tools menu choose Options... and then the Calculation tab). To use the fractal generator, simply download the ZIP file with the spreadsheet to a temporary directory, say C:\temp. Unzip the file and move the resultant file fractal.xls to a convenient directory. The original ZIP file can now be deleted.
