GIF file builder   The GIF file builder constructs any type of image stream that the GIF standard allows. Starting with plain images without any frills, you can combine these in space and in time to create even very complex image sequences. Your web pages will never look the same again! But you do need a screen resolution of at least 800x600 to run the program satisfactorily. This program was written in Borland C++ and it requires some Borland DLL files, that can also be downloaded from this page. Check here for the general conditions of use for my software, and see the Legalities ... option in the program's Help menu for more details. The program is not self-installing, so you have to do some work yourself. Start by downloading the ZIP files containing the program and the Borland DLL files to a temporary directory, say C:\temp. Next unzip both files into this directory and delete the two original ZIP files. From here on the procedure becomes slightly operating system dependent. Under a 16-bit Windows version (Windows 3.1, 3.11) move the files buildgif.exe, buildgif.hlp, bids402.dll, owl202.dll and bc402rtl.dll to a convenient directory, for instance C:\bcpp16. In the program manager create a new program (pointing to C:\bcpp16\buildgif.exe) in an appropriate program group (for instance in group Graphic Utilities). Name this program something like GIF file builder.   Under a 32-bit Windows version (Windows 95, 98, NT) move the files buildgif.exe, buildgif.hlp, bids402.dll, owl202.dll and bc402rtl.dll to a convenient directory, for instance C:\Program Files\BCPP16. In the start menu create a new shortcut (pointing to C:\Program Files\BCPP16\buildgif.exe) in an appropriate folder (for instance in folder Graphic Utilities). Name this shortcut something like GIF file builder. This is harmless and does not have adverse effects on the program performance or on other running programs. Under Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95 and NT the program terminates without errors.
