Sesamoid

Logo

Sesamoid lets you draw routes on the screen output of map, atlas, CAD or other programs and calculates the route lengths. The program was originally developed to be used with geographical maps, and can write routes to file in the form of waypoint lists. The image shows Sesamoid overlaying a map from www.streetmap.co.uk.

Check here for the general conditions of use for my software, and see the Legalities... option in the program's Help menu for more details.

Screen dump

Sesamoid works by overlaying the entire desktop with a transparent window, so that you can no longer access other programs with the mouse, but can still see their output; the program effectively freezes the screen. You can then draw your routes on the transparent window, as shown in the image. If necessary the screen freeze option can be temporarily deactivated to access other programs.

Installing the program is easy. Just download the installer program from this page and execute it.
